These are ideas of the vital plane1 where the strong demand subservience from those who are not physically or otherwise so strong. The spiritual truth is quite other than these things.

 

1 The correspondent asked whether there was any “basic truth” in these two ideas: first, that in a relationship the woman should surrender to the man, and second, that a man has a right to be attracted to several women at a time, whereas a woman should be devoted to one man alone. – Ed.
